OptiSperse* PO5083
minimizes corrosion and improves boiler reliability
Water Technologies & Solutions fact sheet
description and use
OptiSperse PO5083 is a liquid inorganic phosphate manufactured to VEOLIA specifications. It is designed for the control of corrosion in high- pressure boiler systems on coordinated phosphate/ pH programs.
typical applications
Corrosion control in sub-critical boilers is usually achieved by using a coordinated phosphate/pH program. The use of OptiSperse PO5083 will supply a phosphate with a low (acidic) Na/PO4 ratio for such a treatment program. It is supplemented with other products to control deposition and corrosion throughout the steam generation system.
treatment and feeding requirements
Feed OptiSperse PO5083 continuously to the boiler steam drum via a separate stainless steel chemical feed line. Sufficient OptiSperse PO5083 should be fed to maintain the recommended boiler water phosphate residuals and Na/PO4 ratio. Residuals will depend on operating pressure.
Use good quality condensate, demineralized water or feedwater to make a recommended maximum 5% solution by weight of the product. Agitation should be provided.
All chemical feeding equipment and feed lines should be of 304 or 316 stainless steel materials due to the low pH of the material. To minimize packing and plunger problems, a diaphragm pump is recommended.
