description and use

Inhibitor* ZP8503 is a combination of zinc and phosphate corrosion inhibitors. The product is designed to control of corrosion and fouling in open evaporative cooling systems. The specially developed formulation forms a protective film on mild steel surfaces that minimises corrosion thus reducing expensive downtime and maintenance costs. Inhibitor ZP8503 also controls fouling caused by suspended solids and inorganic scales, such as calcium carbonate.

Inhibitor ZP8503 is a combination of corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitor and dispersant for alkaline pH cooling water treatment programmes. Zinc phosphate is suitable for inhibition of mild steel corrosion in low hardness or soft waters where some other types of treatment approach may not perform satisfactorily.

treatment and feeding requirements

Proper treatment levels of Inhibitor ZP8503 depend on many factors, such as corrosion and scale potential, and conditions particular to a given installation. The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that VEOLIA establishes for

application.

The product may be fed directly from the shipping container or storage tank to a point in the cooling system where it will be rapidly mixed with the bulk cooling water.

For consistent protection, continuous feed is recommended. Feed of Inhibitor ZP8503 is controlled by a simple and accurate orthophosphate test.
