description and use
DeposiTrol BL6527 is a blend of inhibitor and polymer designed to control scale formation and fouling, in recirculating and once through cooling systems. It also contains an azole for inhibition of corrosion of copper metallurgies.
typical applications
DeposiTrol BL6527 is specifically designed to inhibit and control scale and deposit formation in cooling systems. It is very effective for inhibition of hardness scales such as calcium and magnesium carbonate. The polymeric component, STP, is also effective in controlling calcium and zinc phosphate deposition. It is also a superior dispersant for iron and suspended solids.
In open evaporative cooling systems it would typically be applied in systems operating under alkaline pH conditions that result in the water becoming supersaturated with respect to calcium carbonate solubility. DeposiTrol BL6527 will allow such systems to operate at a Langelier Saturation Index up to +2.5, and in some cases even higher. Operation under such conditions would typically reduce the corrosion potential of the cooling water.
treatment and feeding requirements
Proper treatment levels of DeposiTrol BL6527 depend on many factors, such as scale potential, suspended solids and conditions particular to a given installation.
The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that VEOLIA establishes for a specific application.
The product may be fed directly from the shipping container or storage tank to a point in the cooling system where it will be rapidly mixed with the bulk cooling water. For consistent protection, continuous feed is recommended.
