description and use

DeposiTrol BL6503 is a blend of inhibitor and polymer designed to control scale formation and fouling, in recirculating and once through cooling systems.

typical applications

DeposiTrol BL6503 is specifically designed to inhibit and control scale and deposit formation in cooling systems. It is very effective for the inhibition of hardness scales such as calcium and magnesium carbonate. DeposiTrol BL6503 contains the new stress tolerant polymer (STP) designed for calcium phosphate scale control and particulate dispersion. It provides unparalleled deposition control compared to conventional sulfonate-based polymeric dispersants. It is a superior dispersant for insoluble iron. DeposiTrol BL6503 is also an excellent precipitation/deposition inhibitor for zinc salts.

In open evaporative cooling systems it would typically be applied in systems operating under alkaline pH conditions that results in the water becoming supersaturated with respect to calcium carbonate solubility. DeposiTrol BL6503 will allow such systems to operate at a Langelier Saturation Index up to +2.5. Operation under such conditions would typically reduce the corrosion potential of the cooling water.

treatment and feeding requirements

Proper treatment levels of DeposiTrol BL6503 depend on many factors, such as scale potential, suspended solids and conditions particular to a given installation.

The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that VEOLIA establishes for a specific application.

The product may be fed directly from the shipping container or storage tank to a point in the cooling system where it will be rapidly mixed with the bulk cooling water. For consistent protection, continuous feed is recommended.
