Continuum AT3263 is a blend of organic and inorganic corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and dispersants. The blend of zinc, phosphate, and azole provides corrosion inhibition for a wide range of carbon steel, copper, and copper alloys. Continuum AT3263 is designed to be used alone for corrosion inhibition, scale inhibition, and deposit control in open evaporative cooling systems.
Components within Continuum AT3263 inhibit crystal growth and extend the solubility range of calcium carbonate, calcium and zinc phosphate, and iron salts to prevent scale and other deposits. This allows cooling systems to be operated in highly buffered alkaline environments, minimizing or eliminating the need to feed acid for pH control.
Continuum AT3263 protects many commonly used metals from corrosion by forming an inhibiting film on their surfaces. While the corrosivity of water naturally decreases under alkaline conditions, it is still necessary to chemically treat for corrosion, especially in copper and copper alloy systems.
Continuum AT3263 does not contain any organohalogen compounds and therefore does not directly contribute to AOX in the cooling water. Therefore, the overall contribution to AOX would be minimal, even in systems using halogens for microbiological control.
Continuum AT3263 can be monitored and controlled using a simple and easy to perform photometric procedure or TrueSense* Online.
Treatment and Feeding Requirements
Proper treatment levels for Continuum AT3263 depend on many factors, such as the corrosion and scaling potentials and conditions particular to a given installation. The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that Veolia establishes for a specific application. Continuum AT3263 is best fed undiluted from the storage tank or container.
Tanks, pumps, valves, and associated piping may be made of stainless steel, polyethylene, or PTFE.
Physical properties of Continuum AT3263 are shown on the Material Safety Data Sheet, a copy of which is available upon request.
