FACT SHEET

Integral Conditioning for Medium Pressure Boilers

Description and Use

aqualead MF890 is suitable for boilers supplied with softened, weakly mineralised, demineralized, or thermally degassed water (T>103°C).

aqualead MF890, a multi-functional reagent, conditions water against scale deposits and corrosion in the water supply, the boiler body, and the condensate lines.

The constituents of aqualead MF890 comply with the US Regulations and FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

Typical Applications

Phosphate derivatives prevent scaling by sequestering alkaline cations, thus ensuring a clean exchanger surface for maximum coefficient of heat transfer. Acts as insurance in case of failure of water softening resulting in Ca and Mg ions reaching the boiler circuit.

Phosphate derivatives act as corrosion inhibitor by passivation of metallic surfaces, ensuring long-term plant life and availability.

Polymeric dispersants keep any particles or precipitates in suspension, such as Ca salts and iron oxides.

Powerful oxygen scavenger prevents corrosion by reducing the presence of dissolved oxygen.

Neutralising amine ensures that condensate lines are protected from corrosion originating from the creation of carbonic acids by the thermal dissociation of bicarbonates and maintains the pH in the condensate lines above 8.3.

As a one-shot treatment, aqualead MF890 simplifies addition and facilitates easier stock control.

Treatment and Feeding Requirements

aqualead MF890 should be dosed relative to the performance of the thermal deaerator, the water concentration kept in the boiler, and the manufacturer’s recommended standards.

The generally recommended dosage varies from 25 to 50 g/m3 in fed deaerated water in order to maintain a residual concentration of dissolved oxygen and P2O5 in boiler variable.

aqualead MF890 has been designed to be added as supplied. The product should be dosed via a positive displacement pump ahead of the degassing circuit. This allows the oxygen scavenger sufficient time to react and eliminate dissolved oxygen. It is recommended that an automatic proportioning pump in relation to the flow of water or steam regulates the addition of aqualead MF890.

In all cases, our engineers and technicians are available to carry out an in-depth study in order to recommend the optimum dosage and conditions of use.

In addition to the purification and observance of standards in the boiler as recommended by the manufacturer, treatment by aqualead MF890 only requires the measurement of the oxygen scavenger excess.
